Pride in Newcastle

On Saturday, 20 July, the Newcastle Branch supported Northern Pride and Legal Pride by marching with the Law Society's LGBT+ Committee. We dodged heavy rain and boiling hot sun, and it was a great success!

Thank you to everyone who attended, and to Rebecca for arranging.

Mentoring Discussion and Alternative Routes Into Law

On 30 January 2019, the Branch collaborated with Sacco Mann and BHP Law to discuss paralegal positions and how to maximise the potential this brings and the experience gained from the role. The event took place at BHP Law in Darlington and involved a discussion with solicitors, Chartered Legal Executives and recruitment agents.

The Branch is pleased to report the success of this event!

Annual General Meeting

on 5 February 2019, the Branch held the Annual General Meeting at Womble Bond Dickinson in Newcastle. It was a great opportunity to discuss the future of the Branch and catch up and network. Afterwards, we had a very enjoyable social event at a nearby restaurant.

Newcastle Legal Walk

The Branch once again took part in this fantastic event to help support the North East Legal Support Trust. The event was very well attended by a number of local firms and organisations, and we were delighted that the weather held out for us again this year. We understand that over £6,000 has been raised for the Trust, which is a massive achievement for a very worthy cause.

Social Events

We hold a social event most months throughout the year where members of the branch can meet up and have some fun as well as networking and meeting new people. Our summer ball is usually held in June and is a great evening which we hold to raise money for local charities.
