We are currently looking for a Real Estate Chartered Legal Executive. The team provides advice on all areas of real estate and acts for a wide range of clients including developers, retailers, social housing, banks and lending institutions. You can expect high quality work related to secured lending matters and your responsibilities will be predominantly based around this area of work. You will also gain exposure to supporting work around purchase, sale and development of commercial property, investment and asset management, complex landlord and tenant advice and acquisition disposals.

Chartered Legal Executive

This role is predominantly focused towards residential conveyancing (leasehold, freehold, new build, mortgages), although collaboration with our Family Team (Private Client and Tax division), means there is also an element of matrimonial and divorce conveyancing. Much of the work comes from returning clients, and often from those whose other interests are looked after by the firm.

We are looking for an individual with significant conveyancing experience from a similarly reputable practice. Ideally they will have dealt with HNWC or high value property transactions. Experience of our exposure to matrimonial conveyancing is desired.

Bring your real-world experience to our independent Panels

CILEx Regulation - Kempston

CILEx Regulation are seeking seven Chartered Legal Executives to serve on our Professional Conduct Panel, Disciplinary Tribunal, and Appeals Panels from January 2020. Our independent panels consider misconduct matters and suitability for membership.

The successful candidates will help us maintain professional standards by bringing real-world experience of legal services to the consideration of disciplinary matters. These roles offer a great opportunity to broaden your experience and to use your skills as a lawyer for the public interest balanced with the interests of fairness.

You must be a Chartered Legal Executive (a Fellow) with strong analytical skills, including the ability to assimilate complex information and make evidence-based decisions. You should also have good interpersonal and communication skills and be comfortable working digitally. You must be committed to the 'Nolan' principles of public life.

Panels are held at our offices in Kempston, near Bedford.

As a panellist you will receive:

  • £350 for each meeting you attend in person (usually five per year)
  • a fee for each meeting you attend by phone
  • a day rate for training (usually two per year) - meets Fellow CPD requirements
  • reasonable expenses for travel, subsistence and accommodation

Panellists serve a term of three years, with a further three-year term allowed.
