Pop-Up Meet and Greet
On 13 June 2019, the Branch held its first of many innovative pop-up events to be held throughout Hertfordshire, inviting local CILEx members to meet the Hertfordshire Branch, discover more and get involved in the opportunities available through the Branch. The event was held at The Practitioner on Fore Street in Hertford.
On 5 December 2018, the Branch held the Christmas Social at the Prae Wood Arms in St Albans. We were joined by CILEx Honorary Vice President Keith Barrett, and everyone had a great catch-up and got in the Christmas spirit.
On 31 January the Hertfordshire Branch held its Annual General Meeting at the University of Hertfordshire. The evening began with a speech by Branch Chair Roger Ralph who talked about the affiliation with the University of Hertfordshire and how well this pilot project is running, as well as providing a recap of all Branch events and activities in 2017. Committee members were elected and re-elected, with Roger Ralph returning as Chair, David Edwards returning as Vice Chair, Andrew Dunkley returning as Branch Treasurer, Anthea Powell returning as Branch Secretary and Nina Roby elected as Social Secretary.
CILEx President Millicent Grant was in attendance and gave a speech about how CILEx was progressing as an organisation. CILEx CEO Linda Ford was also in attendance and gave an excellent speech about the CILEx is Changing campaign, the new Board structure and the new brand identity, amongst other things.
After the event a buffet dinner and drinks were provided and people networked and enjoyed themselves.
Careers Fair - Reach Free School
Roger Ralph and Nina Roby from the Hertfordshire Branch attended a careers fair at the Reach Free School as part of the 'Inspire the Future' programme. The stand proved very popular, with 49 expressions of interest. Overall it was a very successful event. We were thanked by the school for our participation in the event and were invited back next year!
St Albans Legal Walk
The branch members took part in the St Albans Legal Walk. We topped the league ! We were the smallest team but raised the most money...a fantastic £522.50!
